Custody

Who holds the money while a payment through OpenPayd is in flight. Unirail records custody on every leg, and your routing policy decides which kinds are allowed.

  • provider-transitProvider holds in transit

The provider holds the money between collecting it from the payer and paying it out to the payee. Routes like this only appear in quotes when your routing policy admits provider-transit custody.

An environment whose policy admits only none still sees these routes in quotes, marked infeasible with this reason.

Who is regulated

OpenPayd under its own licences.

With your own contract, you stay the provider’s customer. Unirail acts as your technical service provider and calls OpenPayd with your credentials.
