Custody

Who holds the money while a payment through Bridge is in flight. Unirail records custody on every leg, and your routing policy decides which kinds are allowed.

  • provider-transitProvider holds in transit

The provider holds the money between collecting it from the payer and paying it out to the payee. Routes like this only appear in quotes when your routing policy admits provider-transit custody.

  • provider-for-userHeld for the user

The provider keeps the money for the user, in an account or wallet in the user’s name.

An environment whose policy admits only none still sees these routes in quotes, marked infeasible with this reason.

Who is regulated

Bridge (a Stripe company); no UK FCA authorisation listed.

With your own contract, you stay the provider’s customer. Unirail acts as your technical service provider and calls Bridge with your credentials.
